In Sydney, the paperwork is half the job
Almost every Sydney townhouse sits under a strata scheme, and strata schemes have rules. Most require a Certificate of Currency evidencing our public liability cover before a truck is allowed on common property. Many allocate move windows. Some require a bond against damage to common areas. None of that is difficult — but discovering it the morning of your move is.
We issue Certificates of Currency as standard and lodge them with the strata manager before the day. Tell us who manages the scheme when you book.
The physical side varies by area. The inner west — Marrickville, Dulwich Hill, Ashfield, Summer Hill — has townhouse conversions and small strata blocks on genuinely narrow streets with permit parking on both sides. The Hills and north-west — Castle Hill, Baulkham Hills, Kellyville, Rouse Hill — is estate-built with wider streets but tight courts where turning circles decide truck size. The eastern and inner-south pockets around Zetland, Rosebery and Green Square are dense, purpose-built and usually have a proper loading dock and service lift, provided you book it.
Getting a Sydney strata move approved
The order matters. Start this the week you get your keys, not the week of the move.

Identify the strata manager
The managing agent, not the owners corporation committee, is usually who issues move approvals. The details are on your contract or with your conveyancer.

Ask what they require
Typically a Certificate of Currency, sometimes a booking form, occasionally a refundable bond. Ask for it in writing so nothing is disputed later.

Newer Sydney townhouse developments often share a basement dock with the apartment component. Height limits matter — some docks will not clear a 12T.

Do you provide a Certificate of Currency for strata?

What if our strata only allows moves at certain times?
Very common in Sydney, particularly in newer developments. Confirm your allocated window with the strata manager before you book us, and we will schedule the crew to fit it. Weekend windows book out fastest, so start this early.
Can you handle inner-west streets with permit parking?
Yes. Marrickville, Dulwich Hill, Ashfield and similar streets typically have resident permit parking on both sides. We send the largest truck that can legally and practically park, and where a street will not take one we arrange a works zone through the council rather than gambling on a fine.

Yes. Quality moving boxes, tape, bubble wrap and protective materials delivered before your move. You can also add a full packing service so our team does the wrapping and boxing.
Do you move oversized or specialist items?
We move pool tables, home gyms, oversized furniture, garage workshops and most heavy household items. For concert-grade pianos, fine art or wine collections, tell us at enquiry so we can recommend the right transport method.
