TAXIBOX loading Melbourne
Crews that pack your container to the roof — across the south-east, inner suburbs, west and north. Four Melbourne depots, AFRA accredited, from $160/hr.
Where the container sits decides how the day runs
On a standard Melbourne block with a driveway, container loading is straightforward — the box sits a few metres from your front door and the carry distance is short.
The complications are predictable. Inner-north and inner-west terrace streets often have no driveway at all, which means kerbside placement and a council permit. Townhouse and unit developments frequently have body corporate rules about what may stand on common property and for how long. Steep driveways in the north-east and outer east can rule out placement entirely, and the container ends up on the street.
Each of those changes the carry distance, which is the single biggest driver of how many hours the crew is on site. Tell us where the container will actually sit when you book and the estimate will be accurate.
TAXIBOX is an independent company. You book the container with them; we supply the crew.

Frequently asked questions
How much does container loading cost in Melbourne?
From $160/hr for two removalists, 2-hour minimum, then billed by the minute. A one to two-bedroom container typically takes two to four hours to fill; a three-bedroom four to six. Long carries from door to driveway add time, which is why we ask where the container will sit.
Can a container go on the street in Melbourne?
On most council streets you will need a permit if the container occupies the road or nature strip. Rules and fees vary by council and your container provider will usually advise. On your own driveway a permit is generally not needed.
Do you load containers in inner-Melbourne terrace streets?
Yes, though placement is the constraint rather than the loading. Narrow streets in Fitzroy, Carlton, Brunswick and the inner west often have no off-street option, so the container sits kerbside under permit and the carry distance goes up. We factor that into the estimate.
Do you also offer your own storage in Melbourne?
Yes — we have a storage facility at our Cheltenham depot. If you would rather we collected, stored and returned your belongings ourselves rather than using a portable container, that is often simpler and worth comparing.
Are you AFRA accredited?
Yes. Easy Peasy Removals is accredited by the Australian Furniture Removers Association — the industry's professional standard. AFRA members are audited on training, equipment, insurance and practice. You can verify our membership at afra.com.au.
What insurance is included?
Every move includes public liability and goods-in-transit insurance covering damage or loss during transport. For items of exceptional value we can arrange additional coverage — mention them when you enquire.
Do you provide boxes and packing materials?
Yes. Quality moving boxes, tape, bubble wrap and protective materials delivered before your move. You can also add a full packing service so our team does the wrapping and boxing.
Do you move oversized or specialist items?
We move pool tables, home gyms, oversized furniture, garage workshops and most heavy household items. For concert-grade pianos, fine art or wine collections, tell us at enquiry so we can recommend the right transport method.
