Coolangatta sits at the southernmost end of the Gold Coast — a proper beach town rather than a resort strip. Rainbow Bay, Greenmount, Snapper Rocks, and the world-class surf breaks that define this stretch of coast. Gold Coast Airport is walking distance, making Coolangatta popular with FIFO workers and frequent-flyer retirees.
The southern strip extends through Kirra (surf town with the famous point break), Bilinga, Tugun, and across the border into Tweed Heads (NSW). Coolangatta itself is Queensland, Tweed Heads is New South Wales — the border literally runs through the middle of the town. For move purposes we treat the whole southern strip as a single delivery area.
Simpler than Surfers, with a border consideration
Most Coolangatta homes are lower-density than the Surfers strip — walk-up beachfront apartments, family homes, holiday-let conversions. Service lift protocols apply to the few high-rise towers but are much more relaxed than Surfers. Semi-trailer access to most addresses is straightforward.
The main consideration is the state border: some deliveries technically arrive in NSW (Tweed Heads), which affects vehicle registration paperwork and insurance zoning for the last-mile delivery. We handle this internally — nothing changes for you as the customer.

Rainbow Bay & Greenmount — the two headland-protected beaches with the world-class point breaks. Older houses and mid-rise apartments on the hillside behind. Truck access is generally straightforward but Rainbow Bay Road can be tight during summer.
Kirra — the classic surf town with the famous Kirra Point right-hander. Mid-density housing, some newer apartment development, walk-to-beach for most addresses.
The airport corridor & NSW side
Tugun & Bilinga — beachside family suburbs immediately south of Gold Coast Airport. Family homes, low-rise apartments, and increasing gentrification as the airport development shifted the demographics. Very good semi-trailer access.
Tweed Heads (NSW) — technically another state, effectively the same town. Twin Towns Services Club is the landmark. Family homes and mid-rise apartments. As a NSW address, standard rules apply for cross-border delivery paperwork — we handle this internally.
Kingscliff, Casuarina, Salt Village — increasingly popular Tweed Coast destinations for Melbourne movers who want the coastal lifestyle just south of the Gold Coast strip. Newer estates with excellent semi-trailer access.

Is delivery to Tweed Heads (NSW) different from Coolangatta (QLD)?
Not from your perspective as a customer — same fixed-price quote, same service, same team. The border affects internal paperwork on our side (vehicle registration and insurance zoning for the last-mile delivery), which we handle. You just tell us the address.
Can you deliver to Kingscliff or Casuarina?
Yes — the Tweed Coast is part of our regular Melbourne → Gold Coast run coverage. Kingscliff, Casuarina, Salt Village, Cabarita are all straightforward semi-trailer deliveries.
What's the humidity/salt air situation this far south?
Same as the rest of the Gold Coast — coastal humidity affects timber, artwork, and instruments. Standard moisture-barrier wrapping on timber is included on all southern Gold Coast deliveries. For concert-grade pianos, fine art, or wine collections, please mention at enquiry stage.
How long does the move actually take?

Yes — Coolangatta has fewer strict-protocol towers than Surfers, but service lift bookings and Certificates of Currency are still required for some. We coordinate this direct with your building manager as part of the service.
