What Centrelink DV assistance covers
Services Australia (Centrelink) can provide a range of support to people affected by family violence, including the Crisis Payment for extreme circumstances, income-support access, and connections to local legal and housing services. Where a physical relocation is part of the safety plan, the Crisis Payment can help fund a removalist.
The Crisis Payment isn't applied for directly with a removalist — it's applied for with Centrelink, either through a social worker referral or by contacting the family and domestic violence line. Once approved, funds are paid to the customer and can be used to book a mover.
